Little Rocks
- Ages: 8 to 11
- Dates: Sundays from 9:00am to 11:00am, October 27, 2024 to April 6, 2025
This is a fun and fabulous fall and winter program for children. Many of Canada’s elite curlers had their start in a Little Rocks program!
We use lighter rocks (20 pounds versus 40 pounds) which makes it easier to learn the fundamentals at a young age. Focus will be on learning the basics of curling including delivery, sweeping, rules, and strategy in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Many of our instructors are trained and certified by Curling Ontario.
Bantam Youth Development
- Ages: 12 to 18
- Dates: Sundays from 11:30am to 1:30pm, October 27, 2024 to April 6, 2025
We welcome both new and experienced curlers into this program. For new curlers, we teach them the basics, with a focus on correct delivery, effective sweeping, curling rules and etiquette, and strategy, and then move them forward as they gain experience.
For experienced Bantam curlers, we work on the finer points of the game, encouraging them to improve and grow. Often, they will form teams and go to bonspiels. Granite rocks are used in the Bantam program.
